Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment is central to everything we do at UNMASKED Studios.

 

Our programs are designed to help participants explore creativity, communication and confidence through dramatic arts while feeling respected, supported and safe.

Safety, Wellbeing + Child Safety Commitment

UNMASKED Studios is committed to upholding child safety and wellbeing, and to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for all participants, including children, teens and adults.

We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, valued and respected while participating in
creative activities.

At UNMASKED Studios we:

• prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all participants
• treat everyone with dignity and respect
• create inclusive environments where every person feels welcome
• actively support neurodivergent participants and diverse learning styles
• encourage positive communication between participants, parents and facilitators
• take concerns about safety or wellbeing seriously and respond appropriately

 

Parents and carers are encouraged to communicate openly about any needs or concerns relating to their child’s participation.

All adults working with children at UNMASKED Studios hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Studio Code of Conduct

UNMASKED Studios aims to create a safe, creative and respectful environment for everyone participating in our programs.

All participants are expected to:

• treat others with kindness and respect
• support a safe and inclusive learning environment
• respect personal boundaries
• follow instructions and studio guidelines
• use appropriate language and behaviour during classes

The following behaviours are not acceptable:

• bullying or intimidation
• harassment or discrimination
• unsafe physical behaviour
• behaviour that prevents others from participating comfortably

 

If behaviour concerns arise, UNMASKED Studios will work respectfully with participants or families to maintain a positive environment for everyone.

Student Drop-Off + Collection (Children + Teens)

Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring children arrive safely and are collected promptly after class.

Students should remain within the studio space until collected by their parent or carer.

UNMASKED Studios cannot supervise children outside scheduled class times. Parents are asked to arrive promptly at the end of class to collect their child.

Participation + Learning Environment

UNMASKED classes are designed to be collaborative, creative and supportive. Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace and respect the participation of others. Confidence and comfort in creative environments can develop gradually, and individuals are supported to explore activities in ways that feel appropriate for them.

If a participant is experiencing challenges during class, facilitators will work supportively with the individual or their family to ensure a positive experience.

Photography + Media Consent

From time to time UNMASKED Studios may take photographs or short video recordings during classes or workshops.

These images may be used for:

• studio marketing materials
• social media posts
• website content
• promotional materials

Images are always used respectfully and aim to celebrate creativity and participation.

Participants or parents/carers will be asked during enrolment to indicate whether they consent to images being used for promotional purposes.

Incident + Injury Procedure

UNMASKED Studios takes reasonable steps to maintain a safe environment for all participants.

If a participant becomes unwell, injured or distressed during a session:
1. The participant will be supported and the situation assessed.
2. Basic first aid will be provided if required.
3. A parent or carer will be notified if the participant is a minor.
4. The incident will be recorded for studio records.

If emergency medical attention is required, emergency services will be contacted immediately.

Participants and parents/carers are asked to notify UNMASKED Studios of any relevant medical conditions, allergies or support needs so appropriate care can be provided.

UNMASKED Studios welcomes participants of all backgrounds and abilities.

Our programs aim to create environments where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves, exploring creativity and participating in ways that suit their needs and communication styles.

We recognise that people learn and engage in different ways and strive to provide supportive, flexible environments where everyone can feel safe and included.
